So i was were originally going to do the top 5 for older rock/alternative rock songs, but then i realized that the top five were all red hot chili peppers songs so later i will do a new article and have another top five excluding RHCP. Feel free to comment with your own top 5, or point out any songs you feel I might have left out and should give a listen to. Here is what I think are the 5 best rock/alternative rock songs before 2000:

These red hot chili peppers songs both deserved #2, and being of the same album (0ne hot minute), i just put them both together. they are very mellow for the pre-californication red hot chili peppers and obviously pretty good…

3. I Could Have Lied  -Red Hot Chili Peppers

This song is off the album Blood Sugar Sex Magic.  It has a very catchy acoustic feel until the guitar solo around 2:00… Its pretty good?

4. Purple Stain -Red Hot Chili Peppers

Though it is off of Californication, Purple Stain has a very funky feel.  its pretty fucking good!?!?!

5. Porcelain-Red Hot Chili Peppers

This song, also off Californication, is very slow and its good…
