Golden Mixtapes: Mac Miller’s K.I.D.S.

This is the first post for the Golden Mixtapes post series. These mixtapes we post about are mixtapes that we deem top notch mixtapes, which are a must to listen to.

The cover of K.I.D.S.

Mac Miller’s K.I.D.S. was first released digitally on August 13, 2010. Mac Miller’s previous mixtapes, The High Life and The Jukebox: Prelude To Class Clown, had gained him some attention by hip-hop listeners around the world. However, K.I.D.S. would make Mac Miller more renowned than ever before. This mixtape was released shortly after Mac Miller signed with Rostrum Records. A total of six music videos were made for songs off of this mixtape. The name for the mixtape came from Mac Miller’s favorite movie, Kids. Throughout the mixtape there are audio bits from the movie that are put into different songs. I would give this mixtape two thumb’s in the air in honor of Mac Miller.
